Grindelwald
It has long been known as the "glacier village". And in fact some 400 years ago, the greatest glacier expansion in history was so huge that the glaciers reached almost down into the village. Today, geographical names and also the names of our chalets are still evidence of this high-Alpine ambiance: Ischzuun (Ice Barrier) and Obere Gletscher (Upper Glacier) are just two examples.
The glaciers are continuing to recede. Yet their presence is still overwhelming. And so we repeat again:
Glaciers and mountains, sun and Alpine lakes.
That's Grindelwald and the Jungfrau Region.
